Grandparents weeked in Sac

Our respective parents came up to Sacramento for an activity filled weekend - we hit all our local fun spots including the zoo, train museum, train ride, sailing at Lake Natoma, a local ice cream spot, and the hotel hot tub.

American River Cherry Company

We headed out to Placerville to go berry/cherry picking at the American River Cherry Company - it was great!  We picked berries, had our picnic lunch, watch the fish in the koi pond, swung in a hammock, and in general had a great day out.  Since I had my hands full with Cora and the berries we didn't get too many pictures, but we had a great time!

A few days later Tony, Cora, and I went back (no pics from that day though) and let Cora help pick - she was FULL of cherries and berries before we left since she was eating the ollieberries as fast as she picked them. Cherries she'd hand to Tony to de-pit before she ate, so that limited her consumption.  Then we had a picnic lunch (Cora didn't eat much of it though), chilled out in the hammock, and headed home with our haul of fresh, pesticide free, delicious fruit.

The 4th of July

We had a relatively quiet afternoon in Sacramento for the 4th this year, effectively Cora's first since as I recall she slept most of the afternoon last year.  And a neighborhood BBQ created just about Cora's favorite scenerio - people to watch, kids to play with, and food choices galore to eat outside.  We caught a few pics of the most visually interesting items to watch her eat:

Watermelon was a giant hit!

 Cupcakes were also well loved, but I only caught the aftermath of the frosting on film.  Note the watermelon juice all down her front.

And the next morning she was taking a walk in mommy's shoes.
