At seven months Cora is:
- nearly 15.5 lbs
- about to crawl : she gets up on her hands and knees and rocks, and then takes a headfirst lunge forward toward her goal, which along with a few scoots gets here to what she wants. She can also push herself backward, scooting her rump back with the force of her arms
- making da-da-da-da (as well as many other) babbling sounds, but doesn't seem to have yet associated da-da with Tony
- likes to explore (ie, play with) her food...however her ratio of "food in" to "food on" is on the low side (see previous post for evidence on this topic)
- prefers toys that make noise, one of her favorites being a vitamin bottle with dry beans sealed inside
- still has 2 visible teeth

Dinnertime
Cora has been eating solids for a couple weeks so we documented this three course meal - the two notable things are A) she enjoys different textures of food and explores them thoroughly and B) our daughter is not a neat eater (she must get that from Tony).
First Course: Roasted Sweet Potato
Second course: Lemon Wedge
Third Course: Freeze Dried Mango Spears
And the aftermath...

Hiking on Mt Lemmon
Over Fathers Day weekend we decided to escape the heat for a few hours and headed up to Mt Lemmon for a hike - here's a couple pictures of us during our mid-hike break, and then of Tony and Cora on the way back down (I carried her for the first half and Tony got her for the 2nd half). During the hike back down Cora had a nice doze in the heat.
Happy Fathers Day!
So it's Tony's first official fathers day and I just want to give him a shout out for being such a wonderful dad.
He's great with Cora and really participates in her life - he even went to check out storytime last week, in addition to changing diapers, helping put her to sleep, and all the other thousand things we do with her every day. I appreciate how hard he works to take care of us and just want him to know how much Cora and I love him.
Here's the card Cora and I made for him:

California here we come!
We are officially moving to Sacramento at the end of August! All the logistical details have yet to be put in place, but as of September 9th Tony will be employed in Sac and hopefully we'll be settled in (or at least in the process of unpacking.)

The official end of the gummy grin
So I posted a few weeks ago that Cora's bottom two front teeth had come through...at first you had to work a little to see them but now it's official - when she gives you a full out smile you definitely see them. So it's the end of the oh so cute gummy grin - I'll miss it!
It's hard to catch those little teeth in a photo, but you can see them here (extra big to help the veiw).
