Yosemite again!

We went for another fast paced trip to Yosemite, this time to the high country of Tuolumne Meadows.  We stayed in a tent cabin with a wood burning stove for heat - a new experience for Cora and I!  The best thing about this location (aside from being one of the few places to stay in the high country) was that the river was right on the edge of the cabin area making it easy to take Cora over to see the "wa wa" that she frequently requested.

On the way we hit RailTown in Jamestown, and while we didn't get to go on the train ride there we had a nice couple hours exploring and hanging out.  Glad we got to go here since it's on the state parks closure list :(

The river meandering through the meadows.
Out in nature and she still has her ba-ba (small plastic bottle she clutches).

Back in the saddle, heading across the meadow.

Back near the cabins, putting their feet in the icy river.
She pulled those feet back out pretty fast!

On our way back, a pretty tame deer crossed the trail RIGHT behind us. Cora was not amused by the deer being so close to us.

Tired little girl hitched a ride back from the river with daddy.

Olmstead Point, on our way out of the valley.

Cora and daddy sitting admiring the view.

Our little climber!

And holding hands going back down.

She walked all the way up the hill back to the car, then promptly conked out (don't you love it when a plan comes together!) for the drive home.

And here's a re-do of our visit nearly a year ago, she still didn't love the photo opt that daddy and mommy thought was so fab.

21 Months

So our little one is now one and three-quarters!

Her most recent new skill is "twirling" over and over while giggling like crazy.  She's also adding words all the time, some of which we don't understand but others she is pretty clear about including "swimsuit" and "cracker". Having her be able to tell us what she wants (at least some times) has helped reduce frustration on both our parts.

Here's our big girl! She fell the day before we took pics and got some road rash on her chin.

And the popsicle that was her thank you gift for cooperating...
