Cora at six months

So at six months of age Cora is:
- sitting up on her own (once placed in a sitting position)
- rolling over both ways, when she chooses too
- mascerating paper like a pro (paper is a favored plaything)
- enjoying toys (especially things like sunglasses and cell phones when she can)
- she still likes baths, walks, and being worn

She does not like going to sleep (which we're working on) or waiting for anything.

At her six month appt she was 15 lbs  and 26.5 inches long (still 25th percentile for weight and 90th for length and 50th for her head circumfrence). She's on perfect track for growth getting only breastmilk, but we're about to start adding some solids (pray for us!).

(These pictures were taken a few days late.)

And the end of a photo session...

A busy day of new things

Today Cora (and we) had a busy day!

This morning we (Tony, Grandma Sharon, and I) took her to the indoor aquatic center in Newark for "toddler time" on their indoor water playground thing...she was not overly impressed. I think there was too much going on for her.

Then in the afternoon we (Tony, my parents, and I) headed to the Muirwood Park playground to test out the swings and slides. Again, not overly impressed in general, and swinging high with daddy pushing was definitely not popular. She liked the park in general (being outside, the breeze through the trees, etc) but I think it may have been a little early to try the equipment out.

I think her favorite part may have been before we even left the house for the park.

My baby has teeth!

Today we discovered that Cora's bottom two front teeth have appeared.  She didn't seem upset or irritable so I was pretty darn surprised to see that they had already cut through.

I'm a little sad that her gummy grin has limited days left :( I love that big gummy smile.

And I guess in a timely fashion she also sat in the beautiful highchair that Aaron refinished for her at Grandma Sharon's house for the first time.

Happy Mothers Day!

So for my first Mother's Day we were back visiting in California. So we got the families all together and went to Dim Sum in Dublin. Cora got lots of attention and even took a brief ride on the center turntable (sadly the camera batteries died and we didn't get a picture). But needless to say she got lots of cuddles and I got a delicious Chinese brunch.

After a yummy breakfast (we got there a little after 9am to make sure we got a table!) we went back to the house and had some baby time and dessert. Here's a few pictures of Tony's family...

Reading the paper

This morning we sat and read the Sunday newspaper together. Cora really got into it...

The funny's were her preferred section, although I'm not sure if she is that discriminating. But she had a great time with the pages while we sat and read the paper. It may be her new favorite plaything :)
